.....Built by W. L. Moody Jr. as part of his National Association Hotel chain, this hotel was constructed in 1929. It featured 11 floors, 400 rooms, and a predecessor to air-conditioning. In 1962 the building was given to the Methodist Homes of Older People, who turned it into the Moody House. Alas it was torn down in a terrific implosion on January 1st, 1999, as upkeep became too expensive for the organization to maintain. |
