1894 Grand Opera House

.....This was also referred to as the 'Hotel Grand' building.. Henry Greenwall, and a group of investors, built the structure to replace the Tremont Opera House with seating for 1500 and a 56 room hotel. Mr. Greenwall built many theatres throughout the southern states (he was out of New Orleans), but this is believed to be the only one still in existence today.

.....The building fell into disrepair and was restored in the 1980's. The hotel space is now loft apartments while the Opera House plays host to everything from local dance recitals to full-scale Broadway productions. They have a website now at http://www.thegrand.com/.
